Death-Transcendent 

Exceptional Human Experiences

          Death-Transcendent "Exceptional Human Experiences" [DT  EHEs; to learn more about them, see Introduction, Dedication to Rhea A. White, Glossary] are unforgettable happenings that leave the experiencer with the unequivocal Knowing that though the physical body eventually dies, one's conscious sense of self, of "I," does not.    Along with this knowledge comes the awareness of what is referred to on this site as a "larger-life reality" which supersedes but includes the physical consensus reality.   In other words this larger-life reality is not perceived through our physical senses, but under certain conditions, we can become aware of its existence.   Also, these events transform the experiencer, who can never again see the world from the point of view s/he had prior to this Knowing, i.e., knowing-that-s/he-knows these things.   This transcendent knowing dramatically alters the experiencer's sense of reality, and therefore it alters how s/he operates within hir expanded sense of the everyday world to reflect this larger-life context.   

          DT EHEers tend to share a highly specific character profile concerning the effect their experiences have on them.   On wHeretwoworldsTouch.com, I speak of "death-transcendent" EHEs, meaning those EHEs that leave the experiencer with a particular realization that s/he is not the body, that she is clearly something other than the body, which also means s/he is not bound to the same fate as that of the body, such as when it dies.   This opens up Infinite room for a consideration of deeper implications.

          Here is a list of "DT EHEs."   Please realize that these are just labels for experiences that seem to have some attributes in common.   But experiences of an exceptional nature and our perceptions, not to mention our valuing, of them are as individualistic as the people who have them.   One of the best known traits of any-to-all EHEs is that they often leave us feeling at a loss to describe them, much less give them a pat label.   But names do have power as anyone knows who had a near-death experience before we had any common means with which to acknowledge them as a viable phenomenon.   And labels are a start toward cultivating a facile language with which to communicate with each other about them and the larger-life reality they infer to us here in the physical-speak world we share.

          Rhea A. White, who coined the terms  'exceptional experience' (EE) and 'exceptional human experience' (EHE) has said all along that virtually or perhaps absolutely any type of EHE has the potential to bring us to the same knowing awareness.   In her estimation, that means any of (last I saw the listing on her website, www.ehe.org) well over 500 types of exceptional experiences / potential EHEs.  

          This does not suggest that anyone who has any of these types of experiences is guaranteed to come to the very same conclusions like little cookies produced by a cookie cutter.   What I am saying is, these particular types of experiences offer outstanding potential for generating this quality of awareness.
