This page is notes and links only at the moment, sort of a fast note about a most important and exciting phenomenon, lately described as investment in economies to eradicate poverty, through nurturing social entrepreneurism with and among people who are known to live materially at the "bottom of the pyramid" of haves / have-nots.  The maybe up to 4 billions of us [2009] who struggle to live on less than $2/day.    

          The LAL will also become 'a presence' within this global network of social entrepreneurs!  We will create our own projects and hold our own contests, even provide much of our own funding, create an  e-zine / bloggery / conferencing / programs / workshops / conversations through which to cultivate a field of dialogue and the spirit of truly international community through which to make this option a most powerful and exciting one within the LAL itself.  This may be a place where people can easily regularly invest even a few dollars toward their favorite causes as social entrepreneurs / investors.

          There are a wild and wonderful and rapidly expanding menagerie of people and organizations passionately immersed in this endeavor of helping build an ever-expanding middleclass, both as academics and as entrepreneurs.  We dream of doing away with poverty altogether, and those involved in this effort share the realistic hope, for the first time in Human hirstory, that this may actually be an achievable goal!  

          Different terminologies will surface amid the sources given below, but their hearts are all of a single purpose, to raise Humanity of out the clutches of poverty and all that goes with that, perhaps even being of itself a  major contribution to world peace.   Here is just a beginning list of websites / names / organizations along these lines of interest
