Could also offer a listing of possible
backers. Wonder if there is a way to offer more protection
here. For example, could there be a staff of legal and financial
volunteers who can either thorough check these options out for THEIR
credibility. Maybe organizations, etc. who offer their services or
who express an interest either in being on the list or in a give idea or project
would willingly submit to some kind of credit-check procedure toward this
purpose.
Another thing: once the prospective financial
backers were cleared through our credit-checking process, the 'right' kind of
professionals could act as legal [etc.] liasons to facilitate the given
relationships. They would either be volunteers who have nothing to
gain from this or they could receive a certain established fee, either set by
themselves or by an agreement of a board [or?] for our community.
