Welcome to the HEART of
wHeretwoworldsTouch.com,
the Death-Transcendent Collaborative Inquiry Initiative.
This is the "front door" of DT
CII,
The DT-CII Grand Experiment Forum
This is where the rubber actively meets the road!
Those who will be
attracted here will most likely already lead deeply committed lives toward
the experiential Knowing of multi-dimensional [i.e., meta-physical] Reality.
Let's together take on a new, more systematic, yet creative adventure together,
which, to my knowledge, has not been undertaken in any extensive, methodical
way. As co-researchers and co-participants, and co-[and would-be / will-be]EHEers,
let's bring all the best we've got, from every corner of the globe, in terms of
teachings, spiritual autobiographies and biographies, methods that demonstrate,
through others' and our own EHEs and aspects of our lifestyles how to develop
our greater human[izing] capacities.
It is through direct experiencing of the more-than-physical [and that includes
experiences of immanence as well as transcendence] that we may discover and know
directly, for ourselves, the fact of our greater human beingness, hints of
our fundamental eternal nature, as well of our true oneness. That is the
kind of knowing that Shifts everything. All lesser knowings and agendas
are instantly pretty much null and void. For example, we may find we can
no longer be allied to any particular religion, because we truly have seen
Spirit in and unfolding within every human being, even those who are not the
least bit religious.
This
is not about how many Experiences we might add up with notches on a belt. ..
People can have the most incredible experiences like this and not even be fazed
by them. You will find one
example here in which a
person had a full-blown near-death experience and came out the other side of
that imagining that it was probably just a fantastic, surreal dream, and he also
[which is very unusual] was no more convinced life was not bound by merely
physical parameters afterwards than he had been before.
While actively searching for this kind of knowing myself years ago I hosted a
firewalk. I watched both adults and children walk through ankle-deep red
coals for several yards and not get burned, except for one person who suffered a
minor burn on one foot. I also, like others, walked through a number of
times, feeling this kind of inner suspension of everything as I watched almost
from outside myself, my body 'leisurely' move through the bed of burning embers
with absolutely no ill effects. Yet it changed nothing within me!
That was a shock. It did not take me to higher ground in any way I had
imagined it could. Or more to the point .. well, Rudolf Steiner expresses it
superbly:
It
depends upon the inner lives we have developed whether, when we travel
across the ocean, only a few inner experiences pass through our souls, or we
sense the eternal language of the world spirit and understand the mysterious
riddles of creation. To develop a meaningful relationship to the outer
world we must learn to work with our own feelings and ideas. The world
around us is filled everywhere with the glory of God, but we have to
experience the divine in our own souls before we can find it in our
surroundings.
In other words, the experiences themselves are not going to necessarily
transform anything. We are, bottom line, our own change
agents.
Becoming
more fully Human is not
"an experience," it's a process.
I know it's become somewhat of an old refrain, but the transmutation of one's
being is the Journey itself. One of the most important aspects to our
DTCII project is to cultivate, extrapolate, utilize, create ways together to
help our internal processing and also to help us work with great sensitivity and
skill with each other. Examples of some disciplines that will be widely
incorporated will be Dialogue [see William
Isaacs],
Presencing [see Peter
Senge, Joseph Jaworski, Betty Sue Flowers, and Otto Scharmer],
co-facilitating and -processing methods developed by John
Heron [Sacred
Science] for this very purpose. We
need some reliable in-common languaging and processing tools which nurture
confidence and trust in our interactions with each other. But to some
extent this will be open to experimenting and innovation with all sorts of
social toolery.
This
is not a comparative religious class
... at least not in the ordinary sense, in which we "critique" them
for any possible flaws or weaknesses. It is just the opposite: what
in all the world's greatest teachings bring out the greatest meaning and
potential of what it means to be human?
I confess, my initial thoughts about this were almost exclusively focused on
methods that better predisposed one to firsthand exceptional experiences,
improving our basis for generating such Experiences of any type. But
ultimately what connects us at all to this higher knowing in the myriad ways we
might approach this is never the experience per se, but rather, the Heart.
The all-inclusive love-abilities and wisdom of the Heart. It may be
inspired by another, but it must strike a resonance in the immediate
Experiencer's being to effect the kind of change that truly deepens and broadens
one's lifeview.
We will find effective ways to chronicle everything we do, short of getting
'mired in paperwork'. We will have blogs, a journal. We might end up
producing our own documentaries and even movies and radio programs, as well as
conferences and the like.
One last note: the DTCII will be set up as its own entity, but much along the lines of, and perhaps
within, EHE
study groups.
Research
Approaches especially highlighted on DTCII:
1.
John Heron--his
work [Sacred Science (book); fiend of interest: Transpersonal Psychology], his ideas, his links
Include a special forum just for how to utilize his ideas
on this site!
2.
Rudolf
Steiner and his work [see How to Know Higher Worlds,
Spiritual
Research: Methods and Results,
Theosophy and Occult Science.]
3.
William Tiller's
conception; see his book, Science and Human Transformation.
And
more ... [[[STILL
WRITING / REWRITING! ..]]]
The ultimate goal is simply to find what works, what gets
each and all of us
directly to our own death-transcendent experiences and the all-important
resulting EHE Processing -- and to the point: to the resulting
internal Shift which naturally and just as profoundly resonates through our new
lifeview and behavior to extend that blessing force to the world-at-large. And of
course, we are looking for what is safest and most easily and effectively
accessible for the attainment and direct benefit of others, ultimately for
everyone.
The value of the experiences is solely and soully a factor of the meaning
and purpose derived from them, whether they are your experiences or someone
else's.
You can have thrilling, spiritually charged experiences for breakfast, lunch and
dinner every day, but if you get little to no meaning, no deepening from them,
if they don't compulse, compel, and command a core shift toward being more of
WHO you are, what's the point? On the other hand, as Rudolf Steiner
expresses so well: Inner
experience is the only key to the beauties of the outer
world. It depends upon the inner lives we have developed
whether, when we travel across the ocean, only a few inner
experiences pass through our souls, or we sense the eternal
language of the world spirit and understand the mysterious
riddles of creation. To develop a meaningful relationship
to the outer world we must learn to work with our own feelings
and ideas. The world around us is filled everywhere with
the glory of God, but we have to experience the divine in our
own souls before we can find it in our surroundings.
Group
EEs
One especially alluring goal would be to find practices/techniques that
allow more than one person to experience simultaneously a shared LLR
(Larger-Life Reality) experience. For example, occasionally Robert Monroe
and also Bruce Moen have spoken of just such corroborative events. [A
little literary follow-up research could be interesting with such groups.]
But, taking the case of out-of-body experiences and 'schools' as an
example, the next level of collaboration would be to take the best from these
various points of view and explore them within a broader context of options to
experiment with. Of course, this can apply as well to possibilities like,
taking the best from OBEs and, say, virtual reality and/or the trance
states of shamanism or Voodou. Are there advantages to combining some of
these? Or take similar-seeming options like channeling, mediumship,
possession; what can we learn experientially about what these have
in common (or not)? What technologies could enhance certain
practices?
There can be some pretty exotic experimental play, and I'm sure has been
the case since the beginning of humankind for those who had the skill/ability to
pursue such things, and for some few this will be a great opportunity to do just
this. Please keep in mind, however, that always the goal of goals is to
discover optimum options that can be easily accessible to just about
anyone.
In the long run it will not be the technique or technology that will win
large masses of people over to cultivating and using them. It will be the
vision and motivational message behind them and how much value people will be
willing to give this new worldview. ... and how much meaning they will be able
to derive from them.
About
the problem of glamour:
on wHeretwoworldsTouch.com as a whole, but especially on the DTCII, we level the
entire playing field, when it comes to how we relate to each other. So we
will go by first names or made-up login names, which can be fun, not to mention
useful for many of the common names like David and Mary. There are no
gurus here, no specified scientists, etc. To the point, we are all
Experiencers / potential Experiencers and we all have important contributions to
make.
One of the things I've found to be disturbing on some rather similar websites is
the great emphasis on certain experts, and with all due respect to those who are
extremely accomplished! But the point is, we all choose to meet here as
co-researchers and co-participants; every person deserves to be listened
to. If some people take up the relentless banner of "expert,"
that will discourage others from being the full co-participants they can be;
that will stymie the process. It doesn't mean there aren't moments or even
ongoing opportunities to give all you've got, such as through your own blog or
whatever gets set up here to represent all the many possible [yes:] teachers,
teachings, religions, philosophies, methodologies. No one needs to hide
hir light under the proverbial bushel. But more emphasis on we're all
learners, and we all need to feel confident in contributing to the whole of what
can grow here to become a thriving center for learning and deepening together in
the process.
The arts of Dialogue and Presencing, among others, will give us a better feel
for this understanding than my words. The old problem of glamour hurts
everyone in so many ways -- not to say this is necessarily intentional, often
it's just the way things evolve out of the relational dynamics. One of the
paradoxes of glamour is that where one intends to serve as a bridge of
understanding, even though their accomplishments and experience may be quite
genuine, what frequently happens is just the opposite than intended. In
other words, those on the listening end of the glamour, because of someone's
gifted expertise may feel further demoralized by not being able to imagine that
they can possibly do what this gifted person can do.
It's not that [again] one needs to hide one's light. Rather, it's a matter
of how can you help bring out from within, which is the true meaning of
"education" the potential and giftedness in another who may not be so
confident or accomplished, who may in fact feel quite inept at
times.
Mellen Thomas Benedict
has said we have reached a time when we are finally going to join hands and walk
out of hell together. Maybe this image better conveys the spirit of my
ramblings.
