Looking to get a grip on
the vocabulary and basic concepts behind the Larger Life Reality Portal?
These should help:
Glossary and Notes; the
LLR Library; and the LLR
Introduction.
In the mid-1980s, one of my brothers and
his best buddy, both just 21 years old, died instantly in a car accident.
This initiated a compelling personal search for making my peace with death, as
well as for furthering my understanding of what death -- that final moment of
transitioning permanently from this bodily life -- is or means for each of us.
The only criteria for my search was that whatever I found must have a direct,
experiential basis; nothing sourced simply in belief or in the demand for blind
belief [i.e., faith] held any interest for me. Though I respect each
person's right to pursue religion and spirituality, each in
hir [his / her; see the
Gender Experiment] own way, what I craved
with all my being, short of a near-death or physical death experience, was an
experiential understanding of what this physical transition holds for us, which
I sensed and, yes, had experienced to a limited degree before this began, was
anything but in actuality "death," but was rather, life more abundant in every
conceivable way. Trusting simply someone else's answers [from, in my eyes,
their version of belief based on others' beliefs or interpretations before them,
based on still others' beliefs -- usually for a hundred or more generations
back] along the avenues of religion, which most likely did not come from their
own direct experience of this nature, was intolerably shy of useful for me; I
had to know, to know-that-I-know !
Over the ensuing years of persistent
searching, I was constantly surprised by two things: on the
one hand, I continually discovered so very much relevant and valuable material
along these lines, and continue to do so to this day. And on the other,
maybe in part because indeed there is so much data, I have yet to see any
overall or systematic presentation [much less, a thorough study] of all that
speaks to this issue. In short, wHeretwoworldsTouch.com is the
panoramic and multi-leveled source I had longed to find those years ago.
My hope is that it will provide from several important perspectives an
exaltation of insight, direction, and upliftment for all who visit here.
The following information about the various subwebs [there
are several] is not thorough, but it should get you off to some good starting
places for becoming familiar with what we have to offer.
The
Physical Death and Dying Resource Portal
... is replete with much
practical information, such as about what options you might take for
preparing for your eventual leave-taking
of this physical world, all about funeral and memorial considerations, costs,
and even controversies [for example, are you making informed choices about
what you are paying for and how much you are paying? Most of us would
admit we are numb or in so much pain from losing a loved one, we just open our
cupboards and do and pay whatever without even imagining to think about what
real choices we may have; we just want it to be over.]. You will also
find here much in the way of grief support,
including special sections for kids and
young people--our in-betweeners.
This subweb also covers a variety of related topics such as
suicide-crisis; fascinating
cultural differences concerning physical
death and dying and, of course, beliefs; much in the way of inspiration;
even online memorials.
The Larger Life Reality Portal
[LLR]
(Best starting point for what
you will find here: LLR Briefing; to get
a conceptual perspective of the ideas presented in the LLR Portal, see the
LLR Introduction.)
Here you will find the
stories/experiences of Death-Transcendent
Exceptional Human Experiencers; information about those whose vocation
or practiced passion is to study EHEs and related topics, also about their
work -- Students
of Exceptional Human Experiences; the
Annotated
Bio-Bibliography, a large, juicy repository of d-t EHE literature,
reviews, brief biographies of authors / researchers / subjects. Also
the LLR Library is
a substantial repository and connector to many types of information, such as
archived stories, feature articles, and newsletters. Examples are
Chronicles
of the Awakened Life, Dear Rachael,
Editorials,
EHErs
Making a Difference, Feature Columns,
Guest Columns, Onsite Programs
and Program
Transcripts, Survey Questions/Surveys,
and the wtwT Newsletter.
The Heart of the Site:
The
Death-Transcendent Cooperative Inquiry Initiative [DT-CII]
Since "death-transcendent exceptional
human experiences" [DT-EHEs] have a fairly universal, powerfully positive
impact on people, the central questions here are, can we safely learn to cultivate
these experiences? Can we learn to have them 'at will'? If so, how?
And given the general dis-interest of science as we have known it up to the
present, how might we nevertheless systematically explore these possibilities
together? A hint: the key concept here is
direct personal (and collective) experience [see
LLR Introduction to
understand the underlying ideas for this]. The DT-CII is a payment-based
membership subweb.
The EHErs' Support Cooperative [ESC]
... is explicitly for those -- and you know who you
are! -- who have been through profoundly affecting
death-transcendent
EHEs by whatever name and circumstance you might label them [e.g., near-death
experience, after-death communication, out-of-body experience, mystical or
visionary experience, ufo experience]. If you long to connect with
others who know full well from their own similarly transformative experiences
of this nature what you are going through and who share many of the same
challenges as a result, yet you are confused or unsure whether this may really
be one
of those thrilling shoe-fitting experiences, putter around on the Larger-Life
Reality Portal subweb for a while to gain some clarity and direction.
Suggestions: the LLR dedication page to

Critical Ideas.
The ESC is a payment- and criteria-based membership subweb.
Living
the Awakened Life
[LAL]
What does it mean to live a transformed
life, one that reflects the values and worldview of individuals who have had
DT
EHEs? In this part of wHeretwoworldsTouch you will find first of all
EHE Study Groups [both online and maybe
in your own city] with whom you can learn more about "exceptional human
experiences" and about the life-changing advantages you gain through the
practice of writing your autobiography from the point of view of those
mysterious, wondrous, reality-bending experiences that happen in virtually
every life now and then. EHErs
Making a Difference offers biographical sketches of people who have had
such experiences [EHEs] and who as a result are indeed
and irrepressibly living the Awakened life.
Chronicles
of the Awakened Life contains news of people who,
as a result of their EHE-related perspective, are indeed having a powerful
impact on the world in some way. Finally, the LAL is all about networking.
We offer listings and reviews of many activist
organizations and sites, as well as
products and services that support this
post-EHE worldview development.
