wHeretwoworldsTouch is the culmination
of a deeply personal search that began in 1985, with the unexpected demise of two
young men, both then 21 years old. One was my considerably younger
brother, the other was his best friend. Their passing spurred me to have to come
to terms with death and its implications. At this point, belief was no longer
enough for me; short of dying in order to discover its meaning, in some very
fundamental way, I had to know what death ultimately portends for us.
Those many years ago, there was no easy
way to pursue such a search. Anything to do with death and dying and with
other than the familiar consensus physical reality was scattered from hither to yon over
a
bumpy terrain of ['library-ly speaking'] unorganized, not to mention under-recognized, undervalued information, research, connections, and resources.
So very much of
inestimable worth has come out of this ever-expanding, utterly-enthralling
investigation, it has since become an all-consuming passion to re-create the
stages of my personal passage, which is sooner or later every person's Journey
-- an archetypal journey -- in a way
to meet others wherever they may be in that initially terribly difficult
process.
Over time, this
project has become much more than an attempt to collect and line up breadcrumbs
out of my trail of personal tragedy and discovery, as you can already see if
you've gotten this far, and it continues to evolve. Without that
heart-rending beginning, maybe this whole thing would not even have been a
passing thought.
Currently what you will discover here is a number of what
started out as breadcrumb-related "subwebs" that offer a rich and diverse repository of information, resources,
opportunities for avid exploration, engagement, connectivity, and community to
accommodate these related special interests. What follows is a brief introduction to each one:

web community is where you can really jump in over your head and explore an
extravagantly rich learning environment concerning the nature and varieties of
death-transcendent "exceptional human experiences" [d-t EHEs;
see
glossary]. Examples are near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences,
after-death communications, mystical and visionary experiences and many, many
more. Here is
where you may begin to understand the development of a revolutionary new worldview
that is quietly but pervasively ebbing into being -- and its implications for
all of us, whether we are conscious of it or not. Welcome!

Living

What IS this
revolutionary shift
now taking place all about
us and often spoken of on wHeretwoworldsTouch.com? What does it mean to live an
"Awakened Life"? Those who have had
death-transcendent "exceptional human experiences" /dt
EHEs have Awakened to
a greater and direct awareness that we are all profoundly connected. As a
dear friend is fond of saying, I am you in another body. They can't help
but honor the urge to live from an experiential knowing that to
cause injury to another or to harm the planet is an inflicted wound to self and
to All That Is. One fairly universal consequence of such experiences is
the feeling of a dire personal need to live from the heart of compassion;
to love and cherish self as other and other as self, deeply, unconditionally; to
protect, to nurture, to be part of the healing solution, to reach out as a
natural conduit of blessing from a core inner place of caring, to live from a
knowing awareness that we are indeed ONE! Living from and honoring
this awareness is "living the Awakened Life."
You do not have to have had an
EHE
as such to draw you into such a lifestyle. Here is where you can find out
more about what it means to live in this way. In concert with this
understanding, you will also find here an amazing diversity of opportunities for
inspiration, involvement and support. These generally fall into two
areas:
"EHErs Making a Difference,"
a collection of stories about fascinating and incredible just-you-and-me folks
who, as a result of a life changing EHE, have naturally gravitated toward highly
individualistic means expressive of "living the Awakened Life, and "Networking: Products, Services,
and Activist Opportunities," a whole 'nother
world of people, communities, and organizations from all over this living Earth
who are making a magnificently positive and healing difference for all of us.
Anita Roddick has said there are an estimated 7.5 million organizations around
the world actively engaged in this kind of service! And you thought things
were treacherously rocking from bad to worse for the economy and for each other
and the planet? Ah! What you don't know!! I have often felt
that the best way to really dent someone's consciousness regarding the breadth
and depth of something is to use the overwhelm-me-show-me approach.
Especially in grassroots movements such as when we are submerged in our
often local community ventures that are usually relatively small
-- and we have not been well connected in with the rest of that
7.5 mil, we often have felt rather isolated, of questionable value, and
all that goes with that dim-sighted perspective. For the most part, this
has been similarly the case among people who have had death-transcendent
EHEs, as well. The whole of
wHeretwoworldsTouch, bottom line, was built on the basis of this
overwhelm-me-show-me approach; put a huge load of examples, resources,
reference materials, and links together along explicit lines and people
will find their own best means to make use of it and to be impacted by it.
So, come SEE! Explore, participate, hone your skills as an
enthusiastic "revolutionary," support your favorite causes, be a knowledgeable
consumer of right-action goods and services. Here, you will find much to
learn, much to do and enjoy that will be of great benefit to everyone.

Note:
since this was first written, the concept of the Living the
Awakened Life Portal has expanded
considerably..! For example, the LAL now includes these
new sections. One concerns social
investing and includes special projects that we specifically
support, like Elisabet
Sahtouris and her Peruvian food project. The organic
produce provided there is up to forty times what is produced
using standard organic methods!! The closest I've heard of
is a Californian farm with a rate of production of seven times
greater than normal. .. it's a
story!
We also now have plans
for our own co-op that will embrace all the
products/services you see in the LAL, which will be huge.

you can even more effectively direct your dollars and initiative
toward that which lives out of our shared reverence and core

Another
development is an activist feature focusing specifically on personal
health issues. You know, if you share these values and
concerns and passion for caring for the Earth and each other as

pieces of this web 'puzzle' fit together into a seamless and
thrilling whole, having to do with our Waking Up to the
magnificent CORE of what we have in common -- the knowing that
we ARE one family, one being. And at the same time, we are
many, many, many millions of people.
Neville
Goddard says,
"[A] piece of
steel when magnetized differs not in substance from its
demagnetized state, but in the arrangement and order of its
molecules. ... When particles are arranged at
random, mixed up in all directions, the substance is said to be
demagnetized; but when particles are marshalled in ranks so that
a number of them face in one direction, the substance is a
magnet."
Across
all possible differences, the Many of us who are wakening to
this deeper understanding, direction, mutual acknowledgement and
regard are together like a newly magnetized piece of steel, a
unified force for great, great good. Come be part of

EHEer Support Cooperative
For those
of you who have had death-transcendent EHEs
[exceptional
human experiences -- see Glossary]

indeed altered your lives in dramatic ways, and especially who "feel the burn"
of such a transformation (not necessarily "bad" -- just INTENSE) and who strive,
no matter the personal cost, to live from your molten new awareness and values,
this is a place where you and other birds of your feather can flock for mutual
support and co-creative exploration.
Here, you can celebrate the kind of
kindredness and familiarity that feels like another home-coming. This is a
particularly valuable place to gather if you find adjusting to this new you is
challenging in any way. If you have been fortunate enough to connect with
IANDS [the International Association of Near Death Studies] and / or to read or
be with EHE-zapped people like PMH Atwater [an NDEr who speaks to the very core
of such dilemmas as only post-dt EHERs can know], then you know what kind
of treat you are in for within this haven. Its potential to serve you and
other EHErs is limited only by your imagination. And if all this makes
outrageously wonderful sense thus far, you and I know full-well that your
creative imagination is anything but lacking! Welcome!
The Death Transcendent
Cooperative Inquiry Initiative
A
provocative
alternative to the study of life or "all that is" through direct
experience and as
distinct from the necessarily limited philosophic foundations of both materialistic
sciences and traditional religions, has actually been evolving for
sometime .. well okay, at least since cave days or The Garden, if you
prefer. Here, we are rediscovering the value, the aliveness, the thrill of
exploring together, where we see diversity as a sacred ingredient in our shared
becoming.
In a nutshell the DTCII pursues the disciplined and collaborative study of our
own direct, personal,
"anomalous" experiences. Let's you and I, simply as actual and
latent experiencers -- and that means every one of us as human beings on this
singular Journey together, including of course some of our greatest pathfinders
who are indeed scientists and religious -- take back what is rightfully
ours, the freedom to value and explore our very own exceptional
experiences, period. This is not about belief, but firsthand
momentous encounters with Reality that, with delightful ISness, refuses to fit
in any box sourced in nonexperience. We have to experience IT to get IT;
there's no other way, and those who argue for the only-ness of the 4-square
physical box are simply experience-challenged .. until they aren't.
In the
meantime, those who choose to gather here may enter strictly on a first-name kind of
basis -- no matter what labels and extra letters may come before or after last
names. Even though on wHeretwoworldsTouch, and especially on the DTCII, we
gladly suffer and
celebrate the suspicion [yeah-right, 'belief'] that 0-3 year-olds are our most
important experiential life coaches. Very
refreshing, very healing, very empowering!
What if we could learn to have experiences of this nature at will, or more to
the experiential point, at surrender, and what
would be the value and the risk of cultivating such an ability? What
might we discover together if this is undertaken as a vastly collaborative,
networking endeavor among people who have had such experiences [or who want to]
from every possible background, all over the world, respectful of all possible
approaches to its study and not bound by any exclusivistic philosophy or
protectionistic agenda? What could we together learn from and with each
other, and where might
this knowledge take us collectively?
Come join our experience-focused
study groups where we can learn and do so much more collectively, cooperatively,
collaboratively than was ever possible in our previous isolation, not only as
individuals, but as groups and whole fields of discipline and rigid structures
of thought. This is FRESH! Alive! we who together take joy
