Senge, it seems to me, you particularly tend to be the
one who continually comes back to the most universalizing views of what has been, what
is, and what can be, the bigger picture.. That seems to be something I found myself
reiterating in my responsive notes while reading the
book. Of course I'm looking at this from the
ground up and within the context of all Human Beings with the capacity
or potential, just by virtue of being Human, for
making this Shift in consciousness. I don't see
it as just 'a leadership problem'. So this is
where I most could identify the congruence of your
voice and mine in our very different approaches.

this is the work of all of us. All
our contemporary cultures have played a part in the journey of
separation, and we must all be part of the reversal.
As this happens we may reconnect powerfully with one another
also.

proposal / project asks that we Imagine:
This
Consciousness Shift as a recognized global Movement with its fully realized
VOICE
and with a unified, focused Intent, collective, individual, and as
ONE. We are co-visioning and manifesting the mutually
recognized capacity to move forward as one divine being of divine purpose, in
divine accord, because together we choose it.
And in the choosing, we are the attractor force that brings Nature and
Spirit into play with us!
It’s everywhere – the sprouts of this consciousness.
[Analogy of sprouts that are literally built to open and grow as a result of the
conditions of a forest fire - it takes that kind of heat to initiate that
process, and when that happens, you can even see a fine misting of all these
green shoots everywhere, sometimes in conditions where the ashes are still smoldering.]
Let’s bring it into the fullness of our collective consciousness as who
and what we are and what we are capable of doing together.
How can we become
SELF-aware on the order of proliferation demonstrated by this reforestation
process, now?]]]

self-governing democracy. Key question that led to what it is
today: Can an
organization be patterned on biological concepts and methods
so that it can evolve to continually organize and invent
itself?
The
genetic code became Visa’s purpose and principles, its
governing idea .. spelled out in its constitution.

= how order emerges from chaos – powerful metaphor for the
entire U process.

is exactly what’s naturally unfolding with people all over
the world having these Awakening experiences / EHEs, which is
another way of pinpointing what happens at the bottom of 'the
U'.
Once enough of us really ‘get it’ that this is a
global / species phenomenon, we will recognize – not:
we will become or begin – we are literally a chaordic,
self-organizing, self-generating entity and have been all along.
Through this Awakening Shift, we naturally operate out
of this relational field of knowing / ‘field knowing itself’
= aftereffects of EHEs, on collective
scale. We become SELF-Aware as "the Self we all

Developing learning communities.
Only about half the group knew one other in
advance but their shared experience building
learning-oriented organizational cultures established
a strong connection – so strong that people quickly
fell into an open dialogue about what they sensed was
happening .. in the world.

are a number of avenues on AtL / wHe for bringing into
avid exploration and practice all that your conception
of "learning communities" suggests to me --
and I'm excited about finding out more about
that. A few of those are the Living
the Awakened Life Portal [the LAL co-op and
activism; the EHE
Support Cooperative [to be changed to EHE Support
Collaborative]; the Death-Transcendent
Cooperative Inquiry Initiative., not to
mention: this consciousness Movement as a whole
incorporating the organizational learning
perspective. I am hoping you and your Learning
Community cohorts may discover many ways to bring this
knowledge to bear in AtL / wHe!]]]

Epilogue—‘with
man gone, will there be hope for the gorilla?
BSF: Remember
when I was pushing you before about what happens at the ‘bottom
of the U’ and we concluded that something shifts in
our sense of purpose?
Not purpose in a purely individualistic sense,
but .. the opening to a larger self and a larger
purpose.
[[[The
equivalent of this in ‘all things EHE’ languaging:
many people have such experiences, and even
though they may be some of the most intimate /
personal experiences we can have, unique to each
person, what is most phenomenal about them is, when
you talk to lots of people whose lives have been
changed or Shifted as a consequence, and you study how
their lives have been transformed, there is this very
clean profile of characteristics that becomes apparent
as a nearly-universal outcome that naturally
complements the U Theory perspective.
Though it’s happening ‘locally’ /
individually, it’s really all ONE – such as
demonstrated by the nearly universal aftereffects
themselves.
The main difference is not qualitative, but
rather, seems to be in degree.]]]

path forward may exist without rediscovering why
we’re here – because only then can we start to see

of the tremendous sense of purpose and meaning that
drives and also sustains people who have had EHEs.
And that sense of Purpose is also recognized
among EHEers as clearly unitive as well as
individualistic, as if there is an overlighting
Purposefulness out of which individual purpose EHEers
discover or feel is all connected back in a pervading
sense of Oneness.]]]

… and that will require us to think
differently, to think as if we are part of the
universe.

OS: Perhaps
they’ll come from the collective intelligence
emerging in global networks, what Nicanor
Perlas calls the ‘real message of globalization,’ becoming ‘more aware of
how deeply we’re interconnected as human beings
across all of society.’

’NEW
POSSIBILITIES’:
‘All things EHE’ – the awakening of all of us to ‘our family’,
including the Natural and Spiritual worlds, the awakening of this Movement to
its own communal ‘self consciousness and Voice and natural self-organizing
abilities directly from the Source [Rhea
White would say the Self we all are ..]. Through this, we are indeed discovering our collective
and individual purpose. The more of
us who connect with this realization, the more of us who will then find each
other in new and ever more powerful ways as the living consciousness movement we
are. Certainly this is one of the
reasons to have this website in place -- first for educational purposes, but
also to be a conduit to this self organizing that will grow to become an amazing
force / 'consciously' collective consciousness.]]]

rendition to my mind of the possible evolutionary objective of becoming the
global brain in a way that we can truly see, out of a shared sense of purpose ;
supported by our collective, growing ‘super’-sensory capacities ; and with a
translucent and unified conscience to boot!]]]
[[[(On another tract:) I am reminded again of the Spiritualist movement. Without judgment as to what that may or may not be about, look at it as ‘a phenomenon’ in its own right.
It began in 1848 with the Fox sisters hearing and communicating with an unknown source producing raps in the wall.
By around 1860, just 12 years later, it is reported that over 60 percent of the people in the United States were converts to this ‘new religion’!!
And that was from roughly 0% to start with! It doesn’t appear to be a matter of some people actively converting or recruiting others.
It was just that people were having these experiences, and others were repeating them, they were openly talking about them, exploring them, believing them, gaining a kind of hope from them – across all religious and other social barriers.
Imagine that! So we are talking about accessible human experience, potentially available to everyone, itself being the shift factor.
People just naturally [at least 60%] were attracted to that Movement through their own personal experience and that of others.
This was not a top-down event, it was a wildfire that just spread. Emphasis on ‘horizontal’ and by word of mouth and on direct personal experience and the potential of direct experience, as well as the empathic belief factor.
A whole hefty century before the internet and at least many decades before all the other communications options we have today.
Now we have enormous advantages that were not possible then. I believe we can facilitate something like this.
It’s already in the making, obviously something that is happening all over the world, but, as many EHEers themselves have observed, almost invisibly, soundlessly—without voice.
This silent, invisible revolution in consciousness can be eased and nurtured into being all it can be, if, as Rhea A. White says, enough of us do it’ – if enough of us work toward this singular purpose to give it what it needs to grow in our hearts and out of our collective
experiences.

possibility but only if we can open our hearts to finding our place.

and when we do, we’ll discover that the connectedness works in both
directions. Perhaps the sea lion’s
suffering that you sensed, Joseph, is her loss of relationship with us, as well
as our loss of relationship with her.

Like a family that’s been split apart.
BSF: I think this larger purpose has
been implicit in our conversations all along.
The field of the future is what comes into play when we come into the
presence of an understanding of why we are here.
We must first know this in intimate terms, like Joseph found in Baja.
But the expanded self at the bottom of the U naturally encounters
a larger purpose.

think our culture’s dominant story is a kind of
prison. ..a story of separation – from one another,
from nature, and ultimately even from ourselves.

cave allegory] .. suddenly finding yourself outside
after spending all your life looking at shadows moving
in the cave can be blinding.
PS:
.. The pressures to pull myself back into the cave /
prison, to go back to my habitual ways of living, can
be overwhelming sometimes.
Buddhist
saying: nothing
more difficult than changing yourself.

you can feel caught between two worlds.
Part of you wants to flee the sunlight and
return to the cave, but you are also more and more out
of sync with life in the cave.
BSF: IT
MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE
INTERVIEWS IS SIMPLY HELPING PEOPLE SEE THEY’RE NOT
ALONE.
OS:
People really want to tell their story.
But they often fear being seen as part of some
weird minority. They
may not know that many people are having experiences
much deeper than the mainstream worldview can account
for.
[[[All
this connects like an industrial electrical cord to
the benefits [also] of the
AtL / wHe / EHE model -- and in perfect congruence
with all that is implied in Presence and Theory
U and Synchronicity and The Fifth
Discipline and William Isaacs' Dialogue.
Imagine this as a growing collective understanding all
over the world with community, education and tools and
connectivity in which to better realize and work with
and within this consciousness together. All this
needs to become second nature to the other 85% [think
of it here as more metaphorical than actual].]]]

The
shadow side of all this:
OS:
... AN INSTRUMENT IS
LOSING OUR SENSE OF AUTONOMY, OUR WILL, AND THE REAL
ABILITY TO MAKE CHOICES.

yes, AND OUR HUMANITY -- OUR CAPACITY TO SENSE
AND FEEL.
But
if we’re really honest, isn’t this exactly
what’s playing out for all of us in the larger
world,

.. OUR
PURCHASING DECISIONS ARE MEDIATED THROUGH THE NETWORK
OF INSTITUTIONS THAT SPAN THE WORLD TO BRING US THE
GOODS AND SERVICES WE BUY.
LIKE YOUR EXECUTIVE, JJ, WE’RE JUST DOING
WHAT WE THINK WE NEED TO DO TO BE SUCCESSFUL, AND I
SUSPECT IF WE COULD REALLY SEE THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR
ACTIONS, WE WOULDN’T LIKE OURSELVES VERY MUCH.

WE AS GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION COULD BETTER EDUCATE
OURSELVES/OTHERS WITHIN A FRESH LEVEL OF OPERATIONS TOWARD ALTERING THIS.
One
way we might do this is by tracing very particular
consequences down to local communities – tracing
exactly to the companies, and where these purchases
are made, such as:
these softdrinks delivered to
Detroit
or Summerfield were made in Chile
at this plant.
Here are the problems the people in this
community live with because of this company, utilizing
these harmful practices, and providing
this product that we purchase.
Without realizing it, we are voting, insisting,
choosing that [and we can have names and interviews
with families that are suffering the consequences of
our actions] others not have clear drinking water so
we can have our diet coke or diet-coke
addiction. We could then through networking
trace out a path to correct this and/or bring it to
wider attention or requisite legal options to alter
this with all our activistic voice behind what we are
doing. We can do this in ways, well, like Sri
Aurobindo and Mahatma Gandhi did -- not by 'blaming
the British', but by acknowledging in direct ways that
we all in our hearts want to be part of the
solution. So how can we co-create a WIN-WIN
situation here? ... and with more intense levels of
recourse, but always with regard for the heart in each
of us that wants to discover, claim and live out of the
MORE that it means to be Human. There is
always a way to heal the entrapment, to get past the
'deep freeze' to our common Humanity / Heart.]]]
BSF: it’s
the prisoner scenario again ..
PS:
yes. we
live in the cave and dull our senses accordingly.
JJ:
and we’ve also ruined other people’s
options to live differently.
BSF: That’s
why this notion of ‘being an instrument’ is so
tricky. We
can get all excited about it, because we know the
potential of it, but it also touches deep fears.
At some level, we recognize that we’re
already being used as instruments beyond our choice,
at least at some level.
OS:
That’s why you need the call to service and
the call to cultivation.
PS:
That’s right.
There’s
no other way out of this.
We may not be able to change the larger systems
overnight, but we can commit to the continual
development of awareness and the capacity to choose.
That’s why personal cultivation is so
important. It
keeps you sensitive and ‘in the matrix’ so to
speak.
JJ:
THE CAPACITY TO CHOOSE IS THE KEY, AND THAT’S
ALWAYS GOING TO BE LINKED TO OUR AWARENESS ..

such as our being more informed in a way that can
finally make a huge difference]].

[[[this
is why i feel the cultivation of the understanding
offered by the grassroots-up approach to this global
movement waking up to its own existence and potential
and power through our nurturing the awareness,
honoring, and cultivation of eheS is crucially
important.
it takes us to the most essential point of
origin for making a difference, which is in our
individual lives and through a mutual support network
that shares the same growing understanding and
experiences toward shaping or revealing a new
consensus reality

Mr. Emoto ... Water .... also:
An
executive from Saudi Arabia
...
“My grandfather taught me that when you are sick, you
should take a bowl of water and you should read to it.
if you know the Koran, read the Koran.
But it doesn’t really matter what you read, so long as it
is something that has real meaning to you.
Then you take the water and wash yourself with it, and you
will get well. Now I
understand what my grandfather was trying to teach me.”

this reminds me of the event that so altered Sri
Aurobindo’s life [see Satprem], when his brother lay
extremely ill in his home in India, and an ash-covered sadhu came to the door, probably begging
for food, as was the custom.
This man saw Barin, Aurobindo’s brother,
shivering under layers of blankets and without a word
asked for a glass of water.
He appeared to say a mantra or blessing over
the water and made a sacred sign over it.
Then he gave it to Barin to drink.
In 5 minutes, says Sri Aurobindo, Barin was
completely well, and the sadhu had disappeared.
That is the instance that set Sri Aurobindo on
the path of discovering the power in yoga that could,
he hoped, save his people [
India
during the 1890s under gripping Victorian rule].]]]

Another example:
John Upledger learned similar things from the
dolphins and from his cranial-sacral work with people,
talking directly to cells and organs and on this basis
alone, such as working with the “Inner Physician”
or whatever one wishes to call this amazing
intelligence, people have been healed of their most
difficult and destructive illnesses and problems.]]]

M. Emoto to Helen Keller learning the word for water,
the very first word she ever understood from Ann
Sullivan.
We / Humanity are seeing water as if for the
first time -- again.
Through the eyes of Mr. Emoto we are gaining a whole
new order of understanding about our whole conception
of reality, through the vehicle of what he is showing
us about water -- which I believe is another of
many signs of our moving into a whole new consensus
reality.]]]

Negative scenarios!
I
do not think this is a good idea at all. Think
of all that global intention that is steeped in fear
of just such a thing already, actually UNIFIED through
the internet and other media, on the
same page with a world-size fear to power
it. Lynne
McTaggart's Peace Intention Experiment [see down
the page] offers insight into the same phenomenon,
albeit for positive outcomes. But the principle
is the same.

[[[THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT WAKING UP .. the image of the
countless green shoots popping up in the still-smoldering ash of a charred
out ruination after a forest fire.
Irrepressible LIFE!
And
it is happening naturally from within each person!
Did you know about the fairly recent research demonstrating
that flea eggs hatch FASTER in the presence of the sound /
vibration of a vacuum cleaner running?[!]
I
know this appears to be the odor of the negative scenario, but
there’s a subtlety here of difference.
It reminds me of something scientist Russell
Targ says in Limitless
Mind.**
If someone
goes to a physician, say for a routine checkup, and is later given
a diagnosis of a serious illness that could mean an end to hir [his/her]
life, and that heshe only has so much time to
live, it can serve as a defining [spoken / chosen] destiny.
Surprisingly
there are data suggesting that we can facilitate this healing – as long as no one knows how sick the patient really is.
According to the 'observational theory' of psi, an early and
definitive diagnosis of an illness might serve to 'lock in' the
illness ...
...
thereby making it nearly impossible to alter this committed
trajectory away from wellness. So if we put our focus, for example, on what can we do together to
make things better, and establish the confidence of a plan and
direction and commit intentionality to something everyone feels
empowered to pursue, that’s one thing.
If we simply impose a negative scenario, as I’ve
understood this thus far, that’s like crashing the billiard
balls, or like a 911 announcement, or like someone imposing a
rather large and impressive BOO! .. like Orson Wells who shook up
so many people in 1947[?] by announcing on the radio one night in
great seriousness that ‘the Martians have landed’, which
created no end of havoc and fear.
That’s the difference in the way I find it as potentially
very dangerous if introduced to large numbers of people – or
even one! It has a
50/50 chance to backfire.]]]

When
I asked how they’d moved from this opening [above, re:
heart] to seeing their part in creating a different
future, they said that many local initiatives had begun in
their organization, but there were also strong forces to
maintain the status quo. They
were at this meeting in Vermont
to see if working with OTHER organizations might lead to more
sustainable changes.
one
idea crystallized: we
were convinced we needed to find a way to develop leaders from
business, government, and ngos who could work together.
None of these sectors alone can address the major
issues we’re confronting.
[[[I
can't help but believe the 'other 85%' can be of great
benefit toward such purposes as well. But where
do the 15% and 85% meet in these kinds of processes
and decisions and without the familiar shadow of 'us
vs. them'? Maybe that's where this other angle from
the ground of Humanity as a whole, UP, can be
contributive as this consciousness-shift Movement.
Because
in this case, the 15/85 conundrum is dissolved in the
heart, where everyone meets, post-Shift. Here
the disparity of dissent is far less than previous to
such a Shift. It will be exciting to see what
will come of this rapidly evolving
consciousness. Maybe the resolution will
eventuate into some new development in democracy, such
as Dr. Flowers alluded to when she suggested that it
could be democracy as we know it may still be in its
infancy. In any case I have no doubt that this
will change in amazing ways, once this Movement is
actively, purposefully united and engaged in the
global theatre.]]]

from my past to my future, I realize I’m dealing
with great forces and beings incarnate and
discarnate.
I have to do this – this unique Voice is so
important.
A “glamour shot” alone [iShift, Ken
Wilbur, etc.] without this
grassroots movement to contrast to
it would be a terrible mistake. This
collective grassroots Movement’s voice, ultimately
that of “the meek”
-- those who are the bulk of Humanity as a whole --
that Voice is
essential
in the global consciousness as a whole and in the
worldwide dialog. This is how that 15/85
divide will be healed.]]]

How to
find way toward becoming a servant of the whole, where action
arises [Rosch] as a spontaneous product of the whole. …
But this
awakening is not in the event itself; it is in ourselves.
Being a servant of the larger whole ultimately involves
a shift in will, accessible to all who come to understand and
choose it.
AWAKENINGS

.. what unfolds as a
result of an awakening event, the choices we make toward a

believe you’re saying in essence with Theory U, again, what Rhea
White delineates as the EHE Process!
But this does not have to be a ‘suffered’ act of
relinquishing the little will.
In many cases, it becomes something more of a getting
in touch with, or maybe “surrendering to” the higher will
that seeks to find incarnation through us.
Our ‘freely choosing’ then becomes a totally
committed act of “can’t-not-do-it.”
These two expressions of "will" are on opposite
sides of that Shift.]]]

similar to David Spangler’s take on “Will” – the REAL will
is irrepressible and comes from deep within.
“I can’t not do it,” infers this will in
operation. This is
not the tight-mouthed resolve to overcome inner resistance no
matter what.]]]

What
happens when groups complete the whole movement of the U.

this leadership initiative is about developing networks of
leaders from business, government and ngos who can work
together.
Internal
changes show up on two levels:

We
come to embody a new
capacity for action.
What once required conscious effort happens
effortlessly, almost automatically. .. organizations can
embody new capacities by developing new domains of competence
embedded in assumptions and institutional norms.

Learning
also creates new
domains of MEANING, shifting awareness and
understanding.
We see the world in new ways.
What was invisible to us becomes visible .. like
learning a language while living in a different culture
and gradually you come to ‘see’ that culture in a new
way.

Rhea’s idea of seeing or living the new paradigm from inside

fundamentalism around the world …
BSF: irony of
global media and dramatic events like 911 being seen virtually
simultaneously by the whole world.
Yet their reactions actually highlight the deeper
differences in our worldviews.
I think people are increasingly aware of these
differences, and that awareness raises our anxiety level even
further.

EHE model, along with Presencing / Theory U, William Isaacs'
Dialogue, and Synchronicity and the Fifth Discipline, etc.
would give us a whole new way to approach beautifully
amplifying something powerful and from the heart, this
capacity for transformation and more that unites us and even
illuminates this unitive factor in a way that really does
dissolve boundaries – through love and mutual regard gained
through these types of experiences.]]]
BSF: Something
seems to be shifting, but the changes are subtle .. fragile..
JJ: Many of our interviewees over last 5 years talked about profound
personal experiences that altered their worldview and then
said that they’d never told anyone else what they told us.
the opening that is occurring is disorienting, and
people can easily feel alone.

We
could together make a world of difference with this as common
and openly discussed knowledge and in-common, shared
experience.
I believe this platform could serve to help accelerate our
evolutionary pathfinding as a global Humanity at this time.]]]

project becomes all it can be as a conduit of blessing in this
uncertain world. I believe the successful manifestation
of this work, can be a major cause agent in the
bringing to life the Awakened Consciousness and Voice

friends be willing to give me a Tom-Cronin type of
chance to spend a couple of hours, or better: a
couple of days! with you to
'pour my heart out' as Dr. Jaworski did in that
phenomenal synchronistic adventure.
I feel, if you and Drs. Scharmer, Flowers and Jaworski
really see the incredible potential between your
leadership work and this from-the-ground-up work -- as
even same-same and the fact we need both top-down and
ground-up [not to mention its implications for the
15/85% challenge], you can't help but share my vision
and enthusiasm for this unfolding future.
Somebody is going to take this on with me. It
must be someone or those who have something on the
order of your visioning, capabilities, integrity and I
want to say Heart in the way we both refer to it in
relation to Presence and also to the outcome of EHEs. This work needs to be a global
phenomenon, a global presence. It will take
other giants walking the Earth, such as you four, to
give this work that kind of opportunity to achieve its
greatest potential.

President Obama’s campaign proved me right:
I’ve
long thought with the internet and cheaper phones, if
as we connect with each other, people to people,
across all boundaries all over the globe, and if we
can find spiritual or neutral language to talk about
what most at first glance would call “spiritual”
in a new way that connects all of us and ….
Grassroots movement based from this connectivity to
make a difference from the ground up, THAT would be
the best way to change the world.
President Obama's internet campaign success was one of
the miracles of our times! I believe that is
similarly possible with Ahhh-TheLight and
wHeretwoworldsTouch. As activists, as
consumers, as Experiencers and Empaths, as people who
have acquired a certain depth and breadth of what Rhea
A. White describes as “moral consciousness and
reverence for all life,” what
can we not accomplish together, if we are united
through the Awakening of the heart in this way?
In
my simple mind the "cure" to the 15 / 85
difficulty can be none other than unity through the
collective discovery of the Self we all are. We
must simultaneously approach this outcome from both
the ground up and
the
top down
in order to converge in
a powerfully positive way. It must be from both
directions, and it will not be traditional in any
sense.
We must create a new vessel within which to
work together toward a single purpose, such as
reflected so clearly in the both
the bottom of the U and in the aftereffects of EHEs.
