As
I mentioned in the introductory letter, the objective of this web
project is to raise awareness about the awakening of a world-wide
social movement that has yet to become conscious of itself as such,
one that I can’t help but feel will be a wonderful and important
opportunity for each of you.
This
globally extant population comes from all walks of life, and yet to
varying degrees, they have distinct characteristics in common that
make them stand out among their peers, e.g., increased
self worth and authenticity; appreciation and reverence for all
life; compassionate, protective ecological sensitivity and concern;
less interest in materialism and self-seeking values; caring regard
for what really matters rather than a competitive preoccupation;
more universalistic in religio-spiritual interests (emphasis clearly
on spiritual); experience-based conviction of a Larger-Life
continuum; increased higher-awareness incidents and abilities; clear
[shared] moral consciousness; joy in and respect for our
diversity and less judgmentalism; all of life perceived as
meaning-filled and purposeful; a passionate drive to know and
fulfill their own life purpose. They
are, I suspect, predominant among vocational activists and also
among leaders / team players of every field who see their service as
a sacred trust.
Presencing, dialoguing, synchronous living, Theory U had to
have come out of this same Source-Ground.
Yet this great force for good is largely invisible and hardly
imagined as an identifiable population, because we don’t usually
talk openly or acknowledge what these people most have in common,
which is some type of experiential exposure to the Larger-Life
Reality, the “realer than real,” as some have called it.
This web project is dedicated toward identifying, bringing
together, and amplifying this consciousness and its singular
“agenda,” and the result will be an exponential increase in its
operative power and influence in the world.
Like the awesome
orchestration of all the specialized cells in our bodies,
they would continue to function ‘locally’, no doubt, but
they would finally be enabled to perceive themselves and their vast
numbers everywhere as one purposeful whole, and what they represent
would be seen in a new way that will further transform our world.
In fact it has been in operation for sometime.
But it will be far more effective with mutual recognition and
the ability to organize and provide support under the flag of this
collective understanding.
You know, for instance, how big business homes in on
specific populations and sociological trends, such as children
with learning challenges in the ADD-ADHD range; increase in world
travel for pleasure; stress as a pervasive challenge. .. Let's
take a particular example, such as the amazing development of
alternative medicine and healing modalities these last few decades
with the Boomer generation’s persistent interest in this and
decreasing interest in allopathic medicine. The alternative
healthcare industry was basically born in the 70s and is now one of
the strongest excelling consumer industries in this
country. It has garnered growing insurance coverage for
alternative modalities, and a truckload of laws have been passed to
ensure quality of products and competency of alternative healthcare
providers.
Imagine
how different life could be if this particular group was an
identified, acknowledged global
movement that numbers easily at least a quarter of the entire
human population - I think it's more, although at this point numbers
are admittedly fuzzy on that scale. Paul H.
Ray and Sherry Ruth Anderson gave us some healthy hints, focused
on the USA, in their momentous book, The Cultural
Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World.
The Cultural Creatives are in
my mind roughly synonymous with this Movement. We are looking
at it from significantly different views, however, with the key
feature here being "exceptional
human experiences" and an empathic group as well [see
EHE Empath]. They credited
"spirituality" as a key factor for their core Cultural
Creatives. I am certain from other types of statistics that
did not show up in their accounting, that the population AtL / wHe
concentrates on is much larger and inclusive of the Cultural
Creatives, for the most part.
What
can best facilitate the unfolding in our collective consciousness of
this essential ‘future seeking to emerge’?
Recognition, for starters.
And I believe the best place to begin is with the
identification and bringing together the [consciousness] Movement
itself.
There is this great hunger – can’t you feel it, too? –
for deepening, for all this to be out in the open and no longer
protectively repressed like a light under a bushel.
If you feel constrained to reveal or acknowledge something
good, it is robbed of its power, like simultaneously trying to start
a fire and throwing sand on it to smother it.
This must come out and live openly among us, acknowledged and
accepted and nurtured.
Most of all, nurtured.
At last, this terrible isolationism must come to an end for these
people! The long-term sustainability of our Earth
depends on the instrumentality of this world-wide consciousness
movement. Lovingly,
confidently, firmly, we must help each other waken to the Task
before us.
And what a perfect slice of timing in which to undertake
this, speaking of extraordinary moments of collective awakening
… and consequent changes in large social systems!
The extraordinary WIN for the entire world that President Obama represents
is the definitive environment in which to see this happen.
You can almost feel the stir of all the other-worldly [and
these worldly] influences like one great, celebratory multitude of
torchbearers walking the Earth right now!
It's
time to ride this WAVE. Amid this Escort of the Vast, our
wingéd chariot awaits at the world-shifting Archimedean point of
