5. The Death-Transcendent Cooperative Inquiry Initiative

Briefly: A second paying membership community with countless experiential groups for those who want to study EHEs together, and to actively cultivate or be open to such experiences, to share them, and so forth – forums, online conferences, examining the import of these on individuals, on ‘community’ and values, on the survival of this precious Earth. . . to become a force of unity finally in order to have a greater collective impact on the consciousness of the world-at-large. Here, everyone is both co-researcher and subject along the lines suggested by Rhea White [an "experience-centered approach"] and also John Heron [a "person-centred inquiry into the spiritual and the subtle"].  My plan is to see proponents for many, many different disciplines and approaches toward cultivating personal experiences of this nature, much as in cross-disciplinary education in any field of study.  It's all about firsthand Experience -- and in the collaborating, the cross-fertilization and discussion and research, a new kind of fusion, creativity, and unity will evolve to become a force in its own right . . for all that we hold dear in the physical world – and beyond.

          Talk about celebrating diversity, imagine this: a thrillingly harmonious conference where a huge crowd of people gather representing every conceivable mind-body-spirit discipline we’ve ever cooked up on the planet --- not to 'show their stuff', to take center stage, to demonstrate the ‘obvious’ superiority of their discipline, but to be part of the world-wide collaborative force looking for better options with our many multidisciplinary heads together than could ever be possible through guarded, isolated research.  People to people:  experiencers with experiencers [it can and will be inclusive of those who study experiencers, but in this case the experiencers are in charge and the scientists are valued collaborators].  

          Can you imagine science led from this perspective for a wow change?  What an incredibly exciting development that could be!

          We bear always in mind that we take it as a personal and collective special challenge and privilege to celebrate the necessity of this diversity, because we are each and every one an individuating being who is making this up as we go along. But also and most importantly to find and celebrate our great commonality – what we all recognize from our experiences that unifies us as a result of our EHEs and/or appreciation for the value of EHEs. All who come are here because they and others they know have had life-changing EHEs. In realizing our commonality, we become aware together how truly magnificent and powerful with potential beyond imagining our humanity [the MORE that is human, to quote William James and Rhea A. White] and our common spiritual origin defines us. We see this also perfectly mirrored in the essential and equally valuable diversity, the quintessential individuation process necessary to our development. 
          To add a bit more perspective here, remember, everyone here has either had EHEs themselves or they have great regard for them and likely, they themselves have been similarly changed by their deep interest and knowledge of how these have impacted on others. So they all share at least to a significant degree the after-effect characteristics of greater genuine love and concern for each other and all life, as well as a lessened or extinct fear of death, etc. This could be like a cross between a special university like no other and an educational/spiritual retreat with a few hundred thousand coming together to immerse themselves in an unprecedented energetic of mutual awareness of our vast humanity as spirit beings momentarily wearing bodies in order to share the honor of being here together, and what that can mean for all life on and including this planet.
          Remember what Maslow said he and his students observed – the more they studied and talked about and experimented with peak experiences, the more they themselves had spontaneous experiences of this nature.  And Atwater, who said she did not at first understand why, whenever NDEers got together it was like there was no need for words to communicate; they already ‘knew’ each other through their common experience, their NDEs, almost as if they were one person in many bodies.
          What if all this energy, all these people came together consciously, actually or virtually, and focused their extremely different approaches or EHE imprints on certain objectives they all long to see develop concerning life on Earth and what we want to experience together, and what we don’t want to experience together?
          In the final scene in Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind the ETs come to meet and to guide into the space ship those of our Earth who choose to go and be with them. In the face of overwhelming differences, there is this mutual deep regard bordering on reverence that ETs and humans alike demonstrate. In fact we, the audience were so hungry for this experience, the movie was re-issued with only one difference: a slightly longer version of that closing scene, and we all filled up the theatres again! 

          We share deep within a collective understanding or intuitive awareness of our MORE that it means to be Human.  As we are able to come together with the power of this shared consciousness -- as ONE -- I believe we will take steps together, co-create a level of genuine progress together, that will transform all that we experience in this consensus physical universe -- truly beyond imagining!  What must it have been like to live during a time and transition within the evolutionary development of the human species when Cro-Magnon began to outreach the  abilities of the Neanderthal more and more?  This is many magnitudes beyond that, and we are living it . .  NOW!

Shamana Adept OBErs RVrs [remote viewers] NDEers EHE autobiography and similar disciplines Those representing many different spiritual interests and disciplines, including various traditional religions [Buddhists and Muslims, Shintoists and Hindus, etc.] The body-discipline faiths [Tai Chi, mountain climbers, dancers and other even more extreme sports enthusiasts…think “peak experiences” through physical endurance] Those who have had ETI/UFO encounters Consciousness-studies academia The people of indigenous cultures Faith healers Charismatics who use feeling and emotions to achieve altered states Channelers Mediums Seers Psychics Intuitives There are probably still some Carlos Castaneda fans who would show up Witches and warlocks Those who use entheogens [although I have very mixed feelings about this one; the views from both sides of that topically great divide have cogent arguments] Healers of every alternative stripe The Seth/JRoberts people The E. Cayce people The R. Steiner people The Abraham/Hicks people The Gurdjieff people The Reichian people Bio-energetics Those who work with various technologies [e.g., sound-light, psychotronics] The hypnosis-inclined The spiritualists Soul retrievers Those who use things like tarot cards, runes, tao te ching, astrology to “read” others or situations Various proponents devoted to prayer and/or meditation Visionaries/artists, musicians Those representing the various native peoples from all over the world, who still maintain their traditional spiritual paths and wisdom teachings Those into toning, chanting, other voice disciplines Dance, drumming, eurythmy, trance dance/music The vooduns Mystics and sadhus and contemplatives Whirling dervishes and others into dance for generating altered states of consciousness Eckists [are they still around?] Scientists from various fields [Steven LaBerge, Michael Persinger, Stanislav Grof, Wm. Tiller, Rupert Sheldrake, Amit Goswami, Edgar Mitchell .. ] The Jungians The transpersonal psychologists Aestheticists Ritualists of every description The multitudes of "knacks" -- e.g., altered-state wisdoms and abilities of, I want to say specifically, the indigenous peoples of the world Reverential nature people whose EHEs have come right out of the heart of their relationship with Nature Similar but unique other-cultural disciplines I probably never heard of Similar but unique other disciplines in this culture I probably never heard of! The other half of who would come is comprised of the many people who have simply had spontaneous EHEs but have not had any meaningful affiliations with communities of people who have studied or appreciated these momentous experiences as disciplines.

          … [;-D … I just had to visualize what it might look like to cook up a list like this, and as you can see, I hardly dented the surface of possibilities!].  Going methodically down Rhea A. White’s list of over 500 types of potential EEs/EHEs would probably bring up considerably more!
          Very exciting stuff!! 
          An important point for the whole site, but particularly this subweb: This is deliberately not oriented to 'formal research', at least not in the traditional way with experiencers as subjects and mostly statistical fodder.  Nor will there be any emphasis on 'the big names', such as in the consciousness field.  They would certainly be as welcome as anyone else -- and surely, many would relish just this kind of relationship for a change!  The point is, though, this particular subweb is dedicated to all of us human beings as in truth spiritual beings, and as a concerned and inwardly-led global community, every one of us with innate knowing, 'knacks', abilities, potential.  The idea is to level the playing field to the recognition of this fact and is meant to appeal to and nurture the skills honed by the [EHE] experience, little or much, of all of us as experiencers, to make this actively approachable by any/everyone. It is to be common ground where we all meet as spirit beings in bodies..  although I fully expect plenty without bodies will be with us as well!  

          The most humble and retiring contributor might give us a crucial key to what we may do together.  And our earnest willingness to learn and to grow with this understanding ever present in our collaborations will be crucial.  

          EHEer and EHE-empath children will also be integral to this expansive communal adventure [those under 13 years old with permission from a parent or caregiver; in some of our work, we may require they be even older, or some situations may be considered on an individual basis].  One of the ways this can develop is through mentoring programs and relationships; this can be children with their natural talents, skills, and insights mentoring adults as much as the other way around, which will require some sensitive and astute planning and organizing.  Youngsters and teenagers will always be integral to our plans and activities in the DTCII.  I also want us to be willing to be present to the possibility of "the exception" and our being ever ready to consider creative and thoughtful ways to lean on the side of inclusiveness in all our community interests, and all this is community interests.     

          A specially modified rendition of EHE study groups with emphasis on group work or projects more than merely reading and discussion will certainly be in play here, not only for the individual groups, but particularly in this case, for the DTCII umbrella organization level of group input and participation that originates from the smaller groups.  Here is an example of a project idea that can be worked with, within the individual [DTCII] groups and within the umbrella organization of its study groups.

 

 

Revenue Stream/s

• Membership subweb; this fee will be a major source of income from this subweb.

• Books, other media from affiliate program/reseller sources will be a major source with two-to-three thousand titles devoted to everything to do with spiritually transformative experiences.

• In the future:  our own production downloads [and possibly dvd/cd versions] of interviews, programs, conferences

• Whatever may come out of our collaborations together -- including write-ups, presentations of research projects, conferences, programs, membership blogs that originate from ideas here, even artistic blends and productions.  Kind of like with the ESC, there is just no telling what will come out of this.  Not un-often, remuneration will be one outcome of some if not many of these community interactions, from which wHe.. will benefit also.

 

Development Plans

 

This may not be exhaustive, but it will give you an indication of the kinds of material and activity we will be offering and what kinds of technical, administrative, and other assistance will be required to bring this into being.

STATIC	Site map; intro materials; John Heron; jabberwocky, exercises, how-to's about tools, articles. Various journals and other means for ongoing dialogues, sharing of research, ideas, insights, and linking people to people and people to ideas.
INTERACTIVE	Technical aspect of what can most fully accommodate this sacred activity and its self-defined priorities and goals.  In short:  Multimedia heaven.  We want to help facilitate the whole world’s interests and pursuits along these lines.   A bushel of blog/s [and meta-blogs?], such as for feature column; guest column; ‘let’s talk about that!’ for hotspots / challenges or/and new trends and observations and ideas. Email [including admin emails and onsite contact pages]. Also daily/regular editorial organs and discussion groups – official and ‘after hours’.   Forums and meta-forums:  Connecting member-groups of people [support, education, discussion]. Rich assortment of possible avenues with which people will be encouraged to pursue their EHEerly research interests within their favorite sub-topics and within the collective, highly cross-collaborative environment.  Whatever will facilitate the research and cross-group collaborations for discussion and research purposes. Conferencing, such as to support / facilitate / bring to this subweb a constant flow of  special interests with the pro-active intention of collaborative research and discussion, such as suggested through John Heron.
DATABASES	DTCII Library:  Archiving of data, book lists, other resources ; our research data and papers, programs, etc. ...     Books, etc. [Subcategory list from main database located on LLR, including options to create and read reviews and order directly from amazon.com and possible other sources]. Whatever will facilitate the research and cross-group collaborations for discussion and research purposes. Surveys and stats. -- uh-huhh ..   ;-) Music.
MEMBERSHIPS, GROUPS [special databases to keep current about members, processing applications and money and other data, information this will require]	Personal pages, homepages; creating the whole membership setup. TWO levels of membership:   One for organizations on a meta level. One for individuals who also want to participate and/or learn. [Wonder if this is where something like a RSS feed would be appropriate?]
ADMIN. AND OTHER STAFF	Answering email. Fostering research relationships and groups. Any back-end responsibilities that are not automated to facilitate what site has to offer -- mostly answering d&d and technical questions troubleshooting web-related issues.
NOT SURE HOW TO CATALOG THESE [usually because of complexity of what is needed, no one simple answer, or special notes needed]	Eventually our own recognized journal and other means for bringing this remarkable work to the larger world. Peer review processes [and not] and the conception of "culture" Online 'workshops':  could be either powerpoint or video-type presentation with static page containing references, contacts, links, pages to download and print.  All the practical issues -- how to prepare for one’s eventual death/dying; new options [green burial and home funerals].  Each of these and in fact quite a few other D&D topics can be presented as a whole series of workshops, ebooks, even conferences, programs. Research activities, programs, presentations, conferences; lots of cross-group collaborations. Specifically educational programs, presentations of their research projects and outcomes and products, services that come out of their research. Grand Exp. Forum:  all that administratively and technologically supports this work:  Collective of membership organizations and subject interests.. huge; various means for them to connect, convene, collaborate on projects, research ...; hatching projects; cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural, cross-languaging.  Must find way for this not to be specifically driven by these organizations, so individuals and 'cross-pollination'  can be much more  fluid and dynamic and similarly influential.  Hotbed of activity and progress that genuinely contributes to our intentions and to to toe world.
