Group work at its absolute most sublime

Re:  MOBIUS / Stephan Schwartz

From Judith Orloff’s book, SECOND SIGHT, p. 110:

Seaview [a small ship, 110 feet long] was a miniature city, bursting with activity, driven by a special sense of collective mission.  Those of us on board melded into what Stephan described as “a working unit of combined minds, bodies, and spirit united with Spirit.”  We had a concrete goal, but the whole project was shaped by a spiritual, thought not overtly religious, impulse.  Each of us, hired by Stephan, had in common a belief in a divine intelligence and the interconnectedness of all things.  The intent of Seaview was to form both a spiritual and a scientific community.  Every day we began by meditating as a group, asking to be guided toward right action in accordance with a divine plan.

… [p. 113]  Throughout the voyage, our team of psychics would work for four hours, take a break, and then work another four hours, either studying and reading charts or going out with the divers.  Always we were a collective.  As Stephan described it, we had formed a macromind, an extraordinary energy circuit:  the psychics as the intuitive part of the mind; the scientific researchers as the analytical mind, the crew as the physical mind; and Stephan functioning as coordinator.  Together we were invisibly but powerfully bound, united by our shared goal and intense physical proximity.

[p. 117] …Our aim had been to conduct a psychic archaeology project.  We had succeeded in this, confirming the practical uses of remote viewing by psychically locating eighteen ships.  Yet our expedition had meant so much more.  Our voyage on the Seaview had been a spiritual pilgrimage, a mission into which we all threw ourselves hear5t and soul.  The energy that comes from such an inspired group undertaking is dazzling.  We learned that the psychic is an efficient technical skill, sometimes exceeding the capacity of radar, sonar, and magnetometers.  But most important, the psychic was telling us something vital about human nature:  that we’re all part of an interconnected network, privy to information that exists beyond the confines of the rational mind.  By exploring the psychic aspect of ourselves, we discover that we’re linked to a greater whole, a wisdom that allows us to know the grandeur and the possibilities humans can achieve.

Having glimpsed a great mystery, I came away in awe of how much we still didn’t know.  I realized that we were just at the first stages of learning how to work with our intuitive side.

[p. 123]  … With practice, I also became able to read patients while I was with them in my office [as psychiatrist].  I grew agile at shifting states of awareness at will without always having to set aside a special time to meditate:  the psychic became a vital part of how I listened to someone.  It was a gradual process, but I became adept at staying attuned to many different levels at once.  Intuitive impressions would often spontaneously pop up in the middle of a session. … Where the intellect could spin endlessly in circles formulating theories, the psychic could zero in like a laser, penetrating to the heart of the problem.  It provided a powerful magnifying glass, illuminating a universe of information unavailable to me before.

An enormous energy boost and sense of freedom came from dissolving the barriers that had previously kept the psychic so walled off.
