A
wandering kind of dream journey. ..
Eventually find myself with a very loosely knit gathering, all
kinds and ages of people, some, not all, sitting like in a very ancient
outdoor theatre with the raised levels like steps where you can sit on
the ground/stone or bring a chair, looking down on a classic Greek stage.
But it takes place during our today-consensus reality time, in
which people come with their own folding chairs and whatnot to sit and
watch.
Only, the people
onstage are just themselves and come and go as they please.
The stage is round, like the world.
We are ‘the play.’
I just happen to be onstage in the dream, taking all this in as a
bystander. I glimpse up and
off to the left a great cat, which sets off alarm bells inside. As I look more
intently I see not one but two giant pumas totally at peace, up on their
own hill, lying down, relaxed and watching all the people before them.
[Giant: I saw previews of a movie, late summer 2008 (Babylon??) of
a man being chased by a sabertooth tiger, as tall on all fours as the
man is--that big!] Their faces -- their eyes! there is the most noble and piercing depth to
them.* They appear to have their own natural seating built into this
amphitheatre-like space [a little too formal a term, unless you think of
very ancient, time-worn ruins. It
is still clearly visible and functional, but pretty much down to
nubbins, like teeth worn to stubs. But
the feeling of this holy place is still very present.]
I watch, first
horrified, then in wonderment, as a little girl, maybe 5 years old makes
a beeline for the great cats. She
pauses and I see a look pass between child and mother sitting in the
people part, asking and after a second giving permission.
This little one goes over and climbs up to see the golden-hued pumas, tails
occasionally swishing lazily, those steady, deep eyes looking out on
‘the show’, yet with a perfectly accepting even familial familiarity
with the little girl, without in the moment directly acknowledging with
eye contact. There is a
great rocky wilderness beyond them.
The little girl climbs up to where one cat is mostly below, but
very close to the one above. She
too is in wonderment with these magnificent creatures.
There is no barrier between the ‘natural world’ and humanity;
they share and are inseparable.
In the meantime,
onstage, the ‘action’ is just whatever unfolds there with people
wandering thru’, having their own conversations, like in a milling
crowd before a show or during intermission or at a casual gathering like
a party. One man does seem
to have something he wants to share with whoever is drawn to it.
He is actually spotlighted onstage.
He takes out a case and opens it, then brings out a fascinating
instrument, all cream/pearl [little plates] and gold, like thousands of
pieces put together, lots of wires or tiny tubules,
It very shortly unfolds into this musical instrument about the
size of a great organ in a cathedral [without the pipes, just the
organ], only it’s airy, delicate, as if suspended in air.
And in the spotlight, there is a soft pearlescent blue-cast light
all about that is almost tangible. The
instrument has no stand or legs. Looking
at it from the ‘front’, it is roughly a Pythagorean rectangle –
maybe on all sides, with this exquisite geometry of all these tiny
pieces and its wire frame.
He invites anyone to play, and a young woman steps forward, and
reaches out, arms stretched wide, almost as if to embrace it and begins
to ‘play’ – my assumption is she has never seen this before
either. I’m expecting
total cacophony, but what comes out is truly heavenly music!
[The
picture below is not the image of my dream. There is no way to
*art-iculate* it adequately! But it is a representation of several
key figures in the dream.]

Looking for big-cat pictures later to incorporate in the graphic above,
I was surprised not to be able to find anything that conveyed the regal
clarity and quiet intensity of their eyes!! Not the intensity of the
"predator" but of something far MORE and other.
Archetypal. Like they had grown into a timelessly wise maturity
with the Earth itself.
